Access Group has chosen Dementia UK as its charity of the year.
The charity is one of nine selected by the business management software firm globally through its social impact and community support commitments.
Dementia UK was chosen as its UK charity of the year following a vote among staff. All money raised through fundraising will be matched through additional grants through the Group’s charity arm The Access Foundation.
Last year the Group raised £1.55mn for its global charities, including £1mn for its UK charity of the year, Young Lives vs Cancer.
“We are grateful to The Access Group for choosing Dementia UK as its Charity of the Year,” said the charity’s chief executive Dr Hilda Hayo.
“This generous support will help us reach more people through our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses, making a significant difference to their lives through practical and emotional support.
Access Group chief employee success officer Caroline Fanning added: “Our people continue to inspire us with their passion and generosity. Raising £1.55 million for charities around the world reflects the values that drive our culture at The Access Group.
"As we grow as a business, so does our opportunity to give back, and we’re proud to stand alongside our teams in supporting global causes that truly matter to them and to the communities we serve.”
Other charities the Group is supporting globally include critically ill children’s charity Make A Wish in Ireland, education focused Starship Foundation in New Zealand, and community development organisation The Foundation of Goodness in Sri Lanka.
